Sensitive Parenting Support

Compassionate, in-home support for parents navigating mental health challenges.
A therapist, mother, father, and two young children play on the floor of a living room.

No matter your journey, we walk with you, every step of the way.

All parents need support, including—and especially—those living with mental health challenges. Our Sensitive Parenting Support offers personalized, home-based support for pregnant individuals and caregivers with a mental health diagnosis who are parenting (or preparing to parent) a child under age 4.

We understand the unique challenges that come with parenting while managing mental health, and we’re here to walk alongside you. This program includes:

  • Emotional support tailored to each individual caregiver’s unique experience of parenting with a mental health condition
  • Developmental guidance to help you understand and support your child’s growth
  • Connections to concrete resources that strengthen family wellbeing
  • Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC)—a 10–12 week evidence-based intervention that helps caregivers respond sensitively and consistently to their infants and toddlers

You don’t have to do this alone. Our services are offered in the comfort of your home, free of charge, for up to six months.

Not at all. This program is fully grant-funded and offered at no cost to the families we serve.

Possibly. We’ve seen this program be helpful in similar situations. Please reach out to Program Director Kimberly Gascoigne (kgascoigne@stdavidscenter.org) to explore whether this service is a good fit for your family.

Let’s talk. If your child is slightly older than 4 but developmentally more aligned with a younger age, we may still be able to help. Contact Kimberly Gascoigne (kgascoigne@stdavidscenter.org) to discuss options.

Yes. Our work is grounded in the caregiver-child relationship, so we meet with both of you together.

We’re here to help you transition. If you need continued support after 6–9 months, we’ll work with you to find the right next step—whether that’s another home visiting program or a different service through St. David’s.
