When everyday tasks feel out of reach, we help make them part of the journey.
Occupational therapy supports children in developing the foundational skills they need to thrive in daily life—at home, in school, and in the world. Whether your child is navigating sensory sensitivities, motor delays, or challenges with routines and regulation, our occupational therapists focus on the whole child.
Through play-based approaches and purposeful activities, we meet each child where they are and introduce “just-right challenges”—those moments of stretch that build confidence, competence, and joy. From the first evaluation to ongoing intervention, we partner closely with caregivers to ensure therapy is meaningful, connected, and rooted in your child’s unique strengths.

What Occupational Therapy Can Support
Our occupational therapists help children build the skills they need for everyday life—through play, movement, and meaningful connection. Depending on your child’s needs, therapy may focus on:
Sensory processing and regulation – managing responses to sounds, textures, movement, and other input
Gross and fine motor development – from climbing and riding a bike to grasping objects and writing
Postural strength and motor coordination – supporting balance, stability, and smooth movement
Visual-motor integration – connecting what a child sees with how they move
Handwriting and school readiness
Play and early social interaction
Emotional regulation and attention – tools to manage big feelings and stay focused
Daily living skills – such as dressing, brushing teeth, and feeding
Our therapists collaborate closely with families—and with teachers and care teams when needed—to support your child’s growth at home, in school, and in the community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Children need to demonstrate a need that is impacting their current function or as measured on a standardized assessment.
Caregiver will join their child so they are available for an interview, skilled therapist will administer standardized assessments, clinical observations and caregiver questionnaire which typically last about an hour.
At St. David’s, we recognize that growth and healing happen in stages. Episodes of care are flexible periods of support that begin when needs are identified and naturally pause when goals are met. Families and clients may return for new episodes as needs evolve—each time reconnecting with a team that knows their story and walks alongside them. Each episode of care may range from 6 months to 2 years.
