At St. David’s, our Adventure Program is where participants build life skills, friendships, and confidence—all while having a great time.

Designed for those who can safely participate in a group setting with a 1:2 staff ratio, this program blends therapeutic recreation with real-world learning and community experiences.

After School Adventure

When the school day ends, the adventure begins. Located at partner sites across the west metro, After School Adventure runs from school dismissal (varies by site) until 6:00 PM.

Each week features themed days like:

  • Cooking – learn to prepare meals and snacks
  • Arts – express creativity through hands-on projects
  • Physical Activity – move, play, and build strength
  • Sensory – explore calming and engaging experiences
  • Science – discover how things work through fun experiments

Participants also practice everyday life skills like counting money, taking turns, and joining conversations—building confidence in a supportive, social setting.

Release Day Adventures

When school’s out, we’re in session! On school release days (like MEA, winter and spring breaks, and occasional Saturdays), we offer full-day therapeutic recreation filled with connection and fun.

Summer Adventure

Our 10-week summer program runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, at partner sites throughout the west metro. Each day brings new opportunities to explore, learn, and connect.

Adventures include outings to:

  • The Science Museum
  • Nickelodeon Universe
  • Galewoods Farm
  • Local nature centers

Plus, on-site activities designed to support growth, creativity, and wellness.
