Venture Forward

For adults who are ready to grow their independence, connect with others, and engage with their community.

Venture Forward and Discover What's Possible.

Venture Forward is a year-round afternoon Therapeutic Recreation program designed for adults ages 22 and up who can safely participate in a group setting with a 1:2 or 1:3 staff ratio. This program was created to offer an age-appropriate space where adults of all abilities can continue building the skills and confidence they need to live fuller, more connected lives.

Each session blends meaningful activities with opportunities for social connection, personal growth, and community involvement. The focus is on supporting each adult’s goals while creating a welcoming, supportive environment.

Activities may include:

  • Life Skills – like cooking, counting money, and practicing community safety
  • Volunteering – at places like Feed My Starving Children, the Humane Society, community gardens, or by making cards for nursing homes
  • Social Skills – including conversation, participation, and navigating social situations in the community
  • Leisure Education – learning about local resources, planning personal activities, and exploring interests

Venture Forward is more than an afternoon program—it’s a place where adults can continue to grow, give back, and feel connected to the world around them.
